Rockford Barbershop Chorus Hosts 67th Annual Show at Tebala Event Center

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE ROCKFORD, IL September 30, 2015 – The Rockford Barbershop Chorus will present a new show, Jumping on the Harmony Wagon, on Saturday, October 3, 2015 at Tebala Event Center. Featuring musical performances by the Chapter Quartets and Rockford Barbershop Chorus, the After Hours Quartet will headline this show benefiting the Shriners Hospital for Children.

Beginning at 7 p.m. at Tebala Event Center, 7910 Newburg Road in Rockford, Illinois, the show will be hosted by local WROK radio personality, Riley O’Neal. Immediately following the show, guests are invited to stay for Afterglow: A Barbershop Tradition which will include dinner, a cash bar and additional musical performances.

Jumping on the Harmony Wagon is the 67th consecutive annual performance by the Rockford Barbershop Chorus, now a local tradition in a new location. Adult tickets are $20, tickets for children under 18 years of age are $10, and tickets for the Afterglow performance are $12. A portion of the proceeds will support the Shriners Hospital for Children.

The shows headliner, After Hours Quartet, has been singing together since 2009. Hailing from the Midwest, the group has performed across the United States. After winning the Illinois District Quartet Championship, the group went on to become a Top Ten Finalist in the Barbershop Harmony Society international competition. This month they qualified for the 2015 international competition and will compete for top honors next summer in Pittsburgh.

Founded in 1948, the Rockford Barbershop Chorus now has more than 30 members and is part of the Barbershop Society with more than 900 chapters worldwide. Their repertoire, while always changing, includes songs from 1900 through the 1980’s. The group performs locally and aims to celebrate, encourage and preserve barbershop quartet singing throughout America.
